Multimodal

At Van Moer Logistics, we always perform a thorough transport analysis in consultation with our customers. We analyse the origin and destination of the goods and evaluate the impact of value added processes along the way, in order to advise the perfect multimodal alternative. Van Moer is actively boosting the modal shift through inland waterways, and where electrical trucks will be engaged for short transport tasks. This way we are able to service our customers in any way possible. Discover our multimodal alternatives below.

Container terminal Vilvoorde

Terminal Vilvoorde

Our inland container terminal in Vilvoorde operates with daily sailing to and from the Port of Antwerp. The terminal has a capacity of 60.000 TEU per year and accommodates major carriers. 6 reefer plugs are available for storage of refrigerated containers. The terminal can host shortsea vessels with draft up to 6m.

T in T project Umicore

T-in-T project Umicore

Together with Umicore Precious Metals Refining Van Moer Logistics developed a terminal-in-terminal concept. Practically a container terminal dedicated for Umicore is built on site in Hoboken. Thanks to this development a modal shift of 6000 containers per year could be achieved via daily barges to and from the Port of Antwerp.

Barge operations

Van Moer Logistics operates via iBarge dedicated barges in a daily service between Vilvoorde and all portside terminals. 3 push barges provide an intraportual (vlet)service in the Port of Antwerp and a link with Umicore. Recently Left Bank Solutions has been introduced as a transferium between right bank and left bank in the Port of Antwerp. (Break)bulk barges are serving our clients on a spot basis, if necessary in combination with stevedoring via Buermans. iBarge stands for flexibility and speed: 2 crucial parameters in intermodal transport.

Break bulk operations

Van Moer Logistics and Buermans load and discharge 12 million ton of (break)bulk in the Benelux. 27 mobile cranes are operational on a daily basis and planned and operated via Buermans. The flexibility of mobile cranes in combination with additional equipment like bulldozers, forklifts, trucks and qualified labour offers a tailor made solution for our customers.

Project cargo solutions

Van Moer operates a wide fleet of exceptional trucks. This goes from super long transports with length to 35m or high and heavy up to 90 ton via extreme deeploaders. Often we combine this transport with our barge fleet, whereby intermodal transport is organized in combination with last mile trucking.
